Set in the heart of the Schaffer’s Mill golf community in Truckee, California, this family residence was conceived as a modern mountain retreat, rooted in its wooded setting, yet defined by light, openness, and restraint. The home impresses with expansive views with floor-to-ceiling windows, clear cedar batt siding, and covered outdoor living areas to strengthen the connection between the home and the landscape.

Inside, we chose a warm, refined material palette of European white oak, rift white oak cabinetry, quartzite surfaces, and floating oak staircases with glass railings. The result is a home that feels crafted, calm, and deeply attuned to mountain living.
