We designed this contemporary mountain residence as a series of low, horizontal volumes carefully embedded within its forested hillside site, allowing the architecture to step naturally with the terrain. A restrained palette of stone, steel, and glass grounds the home in its surroundings while opening interior spaces to filtered light and views of the pines beyond. Through expansive glazing and layered indoor-outdoor transitions, we blurred the boundary between inside and out, inviting the landscape to shape daily experience. The result is a modern retreat that balances solidity and transparency, offering a sense of both shelter and connection to the environment.
